Day 60- Cake Inspectors

Here are a 2 year old and a 4 year old showing a LOT of self control in respecting their uncle's birthday cake!

Day 59- Family Time

We visited my grandparents today before hitting the beach.  It was a great visit.  I'm so grateful my kids get a glimpse of what amazing people they are. 

Day 58- All Dressed Up

We got a chance to attend a fundraiser for a local children's hospital cardiac care unit.  It was great to have a nice night out, represent his firm and be thankful for being blessed with healthy children.

Day 57- Gotta Be Kidding Me

I originally posted a cute photo of my littlest watering the plants.  But then I happened upon this scene after being out of the room for approximately 3 minutes.  I spent 1.5 hours this afternoon sorting photos for a birthday project.  She unsorted them in those fateful 3 minutes.  She told me she wanted to see them.

Day 56- Up Up and Away

Our Daisy Girl Scout meeting ended at 4:30 and at 4:50 the Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off from Kennedy Space Center.  The girls were very excited to see it peek through the clouds.  Only 2 more missions left.  Growing up in Central Florida, these sightings have been a staple in my childhood.  Glad my kids get to see them before they're gone.

(Double click the photo to enlarge it.  The shuttle trail is the horizontal white puff of smoke between the two clouds about a quarter from the top of the photo.  I was using an extender that is supposed to keep the sun off the lens, hence the round porthole effect.)

Day 51- Anticipation

8 long months ago our best family friends moved from a few houses down all the way across the country.  Today they came to visit!!!  The girls have been counting down the months, days, hours and eventually seconds until their arrival.  I snapped this from our front door as we got a text letting us know they were pulling in the neighborhood.

Day 50- Pink Tree

I lived around the corner from this house from 2000-2004 and then my mom bought our house and has lived there since.  In the millions of times I have passed this house, I don't ever remember this pink tree!  I know I've seen the tree, but don't recall it's spring showcase of color.  Gorgeous.

Day 49- Fun Ride for Tink

This in Tinkerbell taking a wild ride on the dog.  She kept getting thrown off which made the audience (my 2yo) laugh hysterically.  Fun times being a mom. :)

Day 48- She's Perfectly 6

N had to write about her least favorite weather.  She's so 6 :)
"My least favorite weather is rain storms because it scares my favorite cat."

Day 47- I DO IT

She's two and a half so we hear, "I DO IT!!"  A LOT.

Here she's figured out how to get herself a drink of water.  Not sure why she has no pants other than I'm still recuperating and pants around the house isn't a top priority.

As much as the evil sound of those bar stools being pushed across the floor drives me up a wall, I've realized, when they are silent it means my kids are big and that makes me a little sad and a little more patient when I hear their scraping sound.

Day 46- Ugh

This Valentine's Day will not soon be forgotten, or maybe it should.  Four fifths of our house was down with a stomach virus  :(  Thank goodness Jason wasn't affected and could run the show and help the kids since I could hardly move much less hold someone's hair back while they puked.  He's an amazing Valentine.

This was my view for the day, my nightstand.  We rehooked up the baby monitor to listen for who needed us during the night.

Thank goodness it didn't happen 24 hours earlier during our 6 hour drive home and that we are all feeling much much better.

Day 45- That's a Lot of Kids

Nine years ago this time of year, my dad had 1 grandchild who was only 1 month old.

He now has FOURTEEN!  

I had two more, my sister has had three and he's inherited 8 by remarrying.  We aren't all together too often so when we were to celebrate his birthday, it was quite a production!

(This reminds me of the old Aussie hair product print ads where they had the entire family photographed and the names labeled.  Am I the only one who poured over those to try and match the names with the pictures?!)

Day 44- Sunny Charleston

We explored the waterfront and some of downtown Charleston with our best buddies.  Awesome day!

Day 43- Slumber Party w Charleston Friends

The girls and I drove 6 hours to visit our dear friends who we miss terribly.  Slumber parties are so fun, even when you're in your 30s :)

Day 42- Fountain at the Airport

This afternoon we had a Teddy Bear Tea Party with the Daisy Girl Scouts then went straight to the airport to drop Nana off and meet Dad for a quick bite before they flew off for a weekend wedding.  Here's the girls admiring the fountain in the airport hotel lobby in their tea party attire.

Day 41- Little Girl, Big Playground

This is one of my favorite playgrounds in town.  It used to be an all wood playground that I remember the ground breaking for back in the late 1980's.  A few years ago they replaced all the equipment.  It's only a few blocks from where the older 2 take dance so LG and I are her often.  Can you find her in the photo?!

Day 40- That's a Lot of Cookies!

Today I picked up 37 cases of Girl Scout cookies for my 8 Daisy Girl Scout salesgirls.  

It was considered a small order.  At $.50 a box profit, we're not killing ourselves here.

There were 3 semi trailers full of cookies.  I was quite impressed it was a quick, efficient and well run event, all very surprising for our Girl Scout council.

Day 39- She's a Planner

My 3 girls and I are taking a 6 hour road trip to visit our dear friends this Friday.  My 9 yo came home today with a list of things she can do on the ride up.  She's such a planner, where or where could she have gotten that from?!

Day 38- Teaching LG about Superbowl Pools

Is 2 too young to start gambling?

The 9 yo actually won $25.

Day 37- Thinking Day

Today our Girl Scout unit celebrated Thinking Day, a day to think of other Girl Scouts and their countries around the world.

We presented Australia and got to "visit" 9 other countries.  I was so proud of our Brownie troop, they were so polite, attentive and really had fun!

Day 36- Hair Jewelry

My 6 year old came across the pearl hair jewelry I wore in my wedding and wanted to wear it to school.  She was so proud and careful with it. :)

Day 35- My 1st Babies

I've had these guys 14 years and 8 months.  

In college, I really wanted a black cat as the 1st pet of my very own.  My boyfriend (now husband) called one morning to say he'd found a tiny black kitten at the construction site he was working on.  It was fate and hence that's his name.  I brought cat food to the site and they were so tiny, they had no idea it was food.  I had to bottle feed them milk for the first week.

 But he had a sidekick, as grey sister who I didn't plan to keep, but quickly fell in love with.  My brother was in 5th grade and studying Native American tribes.  He named her Cheyanne.

My husband and I counted a while back, we've moved to something like 15 different residences with these guys.  I can't believe they are still around and are in such great shape.  I will miss them terribly when they are gone and am so grateful for the times we've shared.

Day 34- Friends

We met our friends for library storytime and snacks at the park.

I love how two year olds hold hands. :)

Day 33- Safe and Sound

The other day we had some nasty weather warnings.  It was rumored a big storm was going to roll in during the later afternoon.  Local counties canceled all evening events, our weather radio was busy and tv/radio made a big deal of it.  My V is continually worried about tornadoes and knows our master closet is a safe interior room.  To make herself feel better, she packed up her prized possessions, her dolls, and set up a campsite for them in my closet.  :)  The afternoon passed with what our area saw as only the equivalent to a typical summer thunderstorm but rest assured, the dolls were safe and still are as the campsite has yet to be cleaned up.
